The British Columbia government collected $4.29 million at its final land sale of the year held this week, helping the province avoid an annual low for the 1978-2015 period.

The B.C. government collected $18.36 million in bonus bids for 2015, the second lowest in a period spanning 1978-2015. The lowest was in 1982, when the province attracted $16.72 million. This is well off the billions the industry spent in the 2000s tying up land during the Horn River/Montney land rush.
