The benefits to be derived from adoption of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence — which have already disrupted many sectors of the economy — are no longer in doubt. Increased productivity and lower labour costs alone that AI could bring to the oil and gas industry is estimated at $200 billion, according to Matt Klukas, a consultant with Criterium Group.
