    A story (DOB, March 18, 2016) on the filing of the regulatory application for Imperial Oil Limited’s proposed-solvent assisted SAGD project at Cold Lake said this would be the company’s first commercial-scale use of the technology. In fact, Imperial expects Aspen will be its first commercial-scale SA-SAGD project. The company says a final investment decision on Aspen SA-SAGD  could come as early as 2017. The Cold Lake SA-SAGD project wouldn’t get regulatory approval until 2018.
