An important reason some companies in the energy sector are rebranding — changing their names to replace words such as ‘petroleum’ with ‘energy’ — is that they want to appeal to so-called ‘green funds’ or ‘ethical funds’ that would be turned off by references to oil and gas, suggests University of Calgary professor Robert Schulz.
