Pipeline Delays, Alberta Curtailment Dealing Double Blow To New Oilsands Projects, Expansions And Spending Plans – DOB’s Weekly Guidance Report Now Available

The Alberta government said Monday it will continue to allow crude oil production, currently under temporary curtailments, to increase as the market responds and conditions change. Unfortunately, the recent Line 3 delay increases uncertainty about how long that curtailment order, and its impacts, will last. 

One immediate impact has been the slowdown in advancing new oilsands projects and phases.

The newest report, for the period from March 11-15, has guidance updates for Cequence, Journey, Oryx and Valeura. In addition, there is updated guidance for U.S.-based companies such as Northern Oil & Gas, Ultra, Halcon and Berry Petroleum.

Each Tuesday, DOB members can access an updated weekly report with the latest 2019 guidance for companies headquartered in North America, for:

  • capital expenditures;
  • wells drilled; and,
  • boe production.
