Look Back: Original Trans Mountain Lowered Wholesale Prices In B.C.

As noted in this historical article from the Oct. 15, 1953, edition of the DOB (access it via the link below), the Trans Mountain pipeline terminal was officially opened, culminating in a one-and-a-half-year long, $93 million construction program.

According to a report in the Oct. 16 edition that also appears below, reductions in the wholesale prices of gasolines and light fuel oils in most of B.C. were announced by Imperial Oil Limited. The new wholesale prices became effective with the first delivery of Alberta crude oil through Trans Mountain.
