Shell Wants To Be Big Player On Mexico Side Of Gulf; Picks Up Nine Blocks In Auction

Royal Dutch Shell plc, one of the biggest offshore oil and gas developers on the U.S. side of the Gulf of Mexico, made it clear on Wednesday it wants to be a big player on the Mexican side of the Gulf of Mexico as well, winning nine of the 19 blocks awarded in a bidding round for deep Gulf of Mexico blocks.
