Alberta Increasing Carbon Rate To $30 Per Tonne As It Renews SGER, Forms Advisory Panel

The government has renewed and updated the province’s Specified Gas Emitters Regulation (SGER), but will double the rate on carbon to $30 per tonne to be phased in by 2017 as the province considers additional measures for determining the best way of ultimately lowering greenhouse-gas emissions for Alberta.
