George Allan Montague Warne, a key organizer for many years of Canada's participation in the World Petroleum Congresses, passed away suddenly on May 20, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Born in 1925, Warne graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.Sc. in electrical engineering in 1951 and was then employed with Calgary Power before commencing his 54 year career in the petroleum industry.
