Subscriber Access Difficulties
-
If when attempting to register for the first time you are
taken to the "How to Subscribe" page instead the
"Subscriber Information" page, you may be using a different e-mail
address than the in our database. You must use the
same address supplied to us when your subscription was ordered
for the website to recognize you as a user.
-
If your company's subscription is managed by
a site administrator at your company, confirm the e-mail
address with that person.
-
If your company doesn't have a site administrator--or
you don't know if your company has one--contact our
Web Account Coordinator (e-mail: CustomerService@JuneWarren-Nickles.com).
-
If you have viewed the Daily Oil Bulletin online before but
now you are asked to enter your e-mail address and password, it would
seem that one of two things has happened:
-
The cookies in your browser have been deleted. Your
password is saved in a cookie text
file. This is to allow you to access the DOB without
having to enter your password each time. Often cookies
are stored in temporary files and sometimes inadvertently
they are deleted. If this is the case you will be redirected to the
"Subscription Verification" page where you will be promted to
request a new password.
-
You are trying to access the DOB from another
browser, workstation or remote location. Since the
password is saved in a cookie only the browser that you
initially registered on can use, you will be redirected to the
"Subscription Verification" page where you will be promted to
request a new password..
Request A New Password
-
Go to the DOB home page at www.dailyoilbulletin.com
-
Click on any article under "Today's DOB Highlights".
-
On the page where it says "Subscription Verification" insert your e-mail address and click <OK>.
-
On the "Daily Oil Bulletin Login" page, Click on <Email My Password> button.
-
When you receive your new password, it is best to copy and
paste it into the password field on the "Your password has been sent" page as
sometimes typos are made. This happens because, when viewed
with a serif font, such as Times New Romans, numbers can look
like letters and visa versa (e.g., the number "1" and the
letter "l").
If, after requesting a new password, you are still unable
to access the Daily Oil Bulletin articles,
check to ensure that cookies are
not being deleted periodically or each time you shut down your
browser.
-
In Internet Explorer 6:
-
Select Tools > Internet Options > Security >
Custom Level > Cookies.
-
"Enable" should be selected and
"Custom Level" should
be set to medium.
-
Check the settings in Tools > Internet Options >
Advanced > Security to ensure that "Empty Temporary
Internet Files folder..." has not been
selected.
-
In Netscape 8:
-
Go to Tools > Options > Privacy.
-
Go to "Cookies".
-
Keep Cookies: "until they expire"
should be selected.
-
In Firefox 2:
-
Go to Tools > Options > Privacy.
-
Under to "Cookies" ensure
"Accept cookies from sites"
is selected, and
-
Keep until: "they expire" is selected.
Note: You'll have to request another password if using a
different browser.
Cookies
A cookie is a small bit of information placed on your
computer by a web page. It is used to identify you to the
web server. It tells the server who you are when you
return to a page at the same website. Your browser will
only send a cookie back to the website that originally
sent it to you. A cookie cannot run any programs, deliver
any viruses, or send back information about your system.
Visited Links
-
Visited links change color from green to brown after
being selected from "Today's DOB Highlights", the "Table
of Contents". This is to
assist readers in identifying which articles/issues they
have read.
-
Visited links don't change to brown or, after a
period of time, default back to green:
-
Your Internet browser may be set up to clear the
history after a certain period of time.
-
You can set up your browser to have the history
clear every time you shut down your browser.
-
You can set up your browser to clear the history
after a certain number of days.
Note: Browser settings vary depending on manufacturer
and version. Ask your System Administrator how to
check these settings in your particular browser.
