  1. Daily Infographic: Outlook For Producing Provinces’ Royalty Revenue Brighter

    Oil and natural gas producing provinces, B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, expect $5.28 billion in oil and natural gas royalty revenue for the 2017/2018 fiscal year, which would be up roughly 40 per cent from the previous year. These figures do not include revenue from land sales. Most of this increase comes from Alberta, which is forecasting a jump to $3.48 billion from $2.08 billion.

  2. Cardinal In $330-Million Acquisition

    Cardinal Energy Ltd. has entered into an agreement to purchase high quality, low decline light oil assets in Western Canada for cash consideration of $330 million before closing adjustments.

    Marty Proctor, president and chief operating officer, will become president and chief executive officer of Seven Generations Energy Ltd. on July 1, 2017, which reflects a succession plan that was envisioned when he joined 7G in 2014.

  4. AER Enters Into MOU With ICORE

    The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Centre of Regulatory Excellence (ICORE) through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes efforts to work collaboratively, share information and expertise and build an international community dedicated to regulatory excellence in extractive industries such as energy and mining.
