  • Correction: Newmont Production

    The DOB advises of a correction to its Oct. 6, 2004 article "Newmont Plans To Expand Bitumen Evaluation Program." Total production for Newmont Mining Corporation Of Canada Limited is 2,000 bbls of oil equivalent per day from operations in Alberta, southeast Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia. Its Canadian oil and gas operations accounts for a small portion of the company's business. In February 2002 Newmont acquired former-Canadian gold mining company Franco-Nevada.

    A comprehensive report on the storage of carbon dioxide in oilfields -- based on EnCana Corporation's Weyburn project -- will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 7, during the International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Incorrect information appeared yesterday.

  • Correction - Partners In Cree Offshore Well

    In the July 19 Daily Oil Bulletin story entitled "East Coast Drilling Flat With Last Year, Seismic Drops," ExxonMobil Canada's partners in the Cree 1-34 well offshore Nova Scotia were incorrectly listed. Its partners are Shell Canada Limited (40%) and Imperial Oil Limited (20%). ExxonMobil is the operator with a 40% interest in the well.

  • Correction - Husky White Rose Gas Use

    A story in yesterday's Bulletin incorrectly said gas at Husky Energy Inc.'s White Rose project will be re-injected into the reservoir for pressure maintenance during the first two or three years of oil production. A spokesman said today the gas -- which the company hopes to market in a few years -- will be re-injected for conservation only, not for pressure maintenance.

  • Wrangler West Correction

    In an article on May 21, "Wrangler West Targets Drill Bit Growth," cash flow for 2004 is expected to more than double to $6 million, not $11.6 million as published. Cash flow per share of 99 cents remains unchanged.

  • Correction - Pembina Annual Meeting April 30

    The Daily Oil Bulletin incorrectly listed in Friday's issue the annual meeting date for Pembina Pipeline Income Fund as April 29th. In fact, the annual meeting of Pembina's unitholders is April 30th at 10 a.m., in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Imperial ballroom, in Calgary.

    In a story published Tuesday, April 20, "CCR Technologies Reports Fourth Consecutive Quarterly Profit," pre-tax profits were $1.93 million compared to losses of $3.28 million in 2002. Net earnings of $2.16 million in 2003 compared to net losses of $2.61 in 2002.

  • Clarification On Bitumen, Heavy Forecast

    According to analyst Susan Bell of Purvin and Gertz Inc., Western Canada's heavy crude oil production -- including both conventional heavy and bitumen -- is expected to increase to 1.21 million bbls per day from 1.06 million bbls per day between now and 2005.

    Esprit Exploration Ltd. has 100 sections of land with coalbed methane potential and is currently evaluating the lands. Two pilot projects are planned this year. The Daily Oil Bulletin incorrectly said in the Feb. 27 edition that Esprit was planning to drill 100 CBM wells this year.

  • Coalbed Methane Activity Clarification

    A feature article in Monday's Bulletin quoted Bill Prescott of Perspective Consultants Inc. as describing townships 15 to 25, west of the fourth meridian, as the region where the majority of Alberta's coalbed methane wells in the Horseshoe Canyon and Belly River formations have been drilled. Prescott advises that the region in question extends from townships 25 through 40, ranges 15 through 25, west of the fourth meridian.

    A Daily Oil Bulletin article published Nov. 6 on new reserves requirements incorrectly reported that creation of a reserves committee by a corporation will absolve directors and officers from liability. In fact, neither the directors and officers nor the board as a whole are absolved from liability where a reserves committee has been set up, according to Clifford Johnson, regional managing partner for McCarthy Tetrault L.L.P.

  • Correction - Cabri Expansion To Add 70 Mmcf Per Day Capacity

    There was one error in the Oct. 29 Daily Oil Bulletin article on the Shackleton\Abbey play, TransGas advises. The 21 kilometre pipeline to tie-in with TransCanada Corporation's Cabri station will add about 70 mmcf a day of capacity, TransGas says.
