China burns around four billion tonnes of coal per year, meaning if the country boosts efforts to replace even a tiny portion equalling just four per cent of coal with natural gas, then it would require about 100 million tonnes of LNG manufacturing capacity to satisfy, notes Deloitte Canada oil and gas partner Geoffrey Cann.
